INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
All abstracts must be completed using the abstract submission form and submitted by December 15th, 2017 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that there is no limit on the number of abstract submissions that each person may submit. However, because of space limitations in the programme, the Conference Committee will accept only one first author abstract per submission type.
Authors will be notified of acceptance of submissions by January 31st, 2018.
ORAL PAPERS: Oral papers will be organized into sessions with shared themes by the Conference Committee. There will be a maximum of 20 minutes for each paper. Each presentation will last for 15 minutes, with 5 minutes for questions.
SYMPOSIA: Symposia consist of three to five authors who are proposing a set of papers based on a shared theme or topic. The papers may present complementary aspects of a specific body of work or contrasting perspectives. The authors, led by an organizer, should design the session to allow time for individual presentations and a substantive discussion with the audience. All authors must an abstract for an oral paper. Additionally, the organizer must submit a ‘proposal for symposium’ indicating the title, an overall abstract for the symposium, and a list the authors and titles of all papers. A discussant, who may be the organizer, a paper presenter, or another individual identified in advance, should be prepared to provide concluding statements.
POSTERS: Poster presentations consist of an exhibit of materials that report research activities in visual printer form. Space will be provided in exhibit gallery for display of posters throughout the conference. The first author is expected to be in attendance at the conference to discuss their work. The poster requirements are: A1 in size (841 x 594mm or 33.1 x 23.4 inches).
EXHIBITS OR PERFORMANCES: The committee welcomes the submission of creative arts-based or visual methods research. Display space for exhibits will be made available as will opportunities to share and/or enact performative work. Please submit an abstract form and a member of the committee will contact you to discuss specifics.
